I have many things on my heart and mind and so I have put the best of what I have learned into one presentation for our meeting today! Even though some of the training was not even Scentsy related a noticed some common principles that we could apply to our lives and businesses!
You can be as successful as you can… DREAM! (Ask yourself why did you join Scentsy?) You must have had a dream or vision in the beginning!
You have to be inspired to be INSPIRING! You need to share what scentsy means to you and use that to inspire others! If you have a connection with people you can inspire!
SO DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE ALREADY A DIRECTOR? Once you have that first recruit you are directing!
Being a Director is all about LEADERSHIP! There are 3 kinds of Leadership!
Personal Leadership ~ Team Leadership ~ Business Leadership
PERSONAL LEADERSHIP
SALES- are for money today
PARTIES- are money for tomorrow
SPONSORING- is money forever
It is obvious that they are all important but which is the most important to our future? Of course sponsoring!
Recruiting is SIMPLY exposing a gap between where someone is and what they want. You have to help connect those two things together for them and first you need to connect with them!
Interesting questions = Interesting answers
Do ask… Would you like to have your groceries paid for every month?
What would you do with $200 extra every month?
Don’t ask… Would you like to start your own business? This is too big for most to comprehend. These kinds of questions can come later. Start by connecting and exposing the small gap! Something that can affect them instantly.

It’s kinda like losing weight… Are you really willing to do what it takes for the end result? Or when that cookie is offered are you quick to grab it? It is either you are willing to work for it or YOU SETTLE! This is the same with our businesses!
For those of you that making your Scentsy calls is hard…. Are you willing to do whatever it takes or give into your mind that tells you that you can’t pick up that phone and call someone! Or you choose to SETTLE! Knowing that those phone calls will help your business! You choose not to do them for whatever reason and justify…. SO YOU SETTLE!
Start telling yourself….
I commit to take responsibility for everything that happens!
If plan A doesn’t work then move to plan B then C then D ... Z
Create your story! Think of the road that led you to Scentsy and find your story! Recruits can come just from the connection of your story!
You know how when you go book shopping…. You pick up a book and read the back to see if it inspires you enough to buy it? Well we have to make that connection with people!
Make people want to stay awake to read your book!

Commit yourself to your level of parties. For some of you that will be 10 a month and some it will be 2! But no matter what your personal goal is…SET IT and follow through!
Watch for people and their success…. Hi Sally I can’t believe you just beat your personal best! It’s ACHIEVABLE AND BELIEVABLE!
A class I took the other day said that 85% of people don’t work for the money ultimately! They work for the friendships and connections with people and for the recognition of doing something with themselves!
So it is so IMPORTANT to RECOGNIZE, RECOGNIZE, RECOGNIZE!
Treat ALL new consultants as DIRECTORS IN TRAINING!
Talk with your new recruits and look them in the eye and tell them they will be a super star director! Help them see that you believe in them because when they are doubting themselves they will know that someone believes in them1
Create a realistic roadmap…. When you go to the restaurant and the kid menu has a maze to play with colors… The child starts the maze and gets to a brick wall not going anywhere. The child has a few choices…
a.) throw the color across the room and give up
b.) complain and QUIT!
c.) Wad up his paper and just forget about the whole thing
d.) Just go back and try another route with experience and knowledge now of what not to do!
WHAT DO YOU CHOOSE TO DO WHEN YOUR BUSINESS HITS A BRICK WALL OR A DEAD END?
You can’t fail in this business….
YOU ONLY FAIL UNLESS YOU QUIT!
Let your recruits know from the beginning that this is a journey that you are on together and that you will be there for her/him when they hit a speedbump!
BUSINESS LEADERSHIP
Be a STRATEGIC mentor
New consultants need SKILLS! Teach your recruits how to get started!
Try and attend their LAUNCH party and ask for a few minutes to talk!
At the launch you get your moment and you say… We are so excited that you came tonight! Sally is going to be awesome at her new business! If you really want to help her out and support her then book a party with her tonight and help jumpstart Sally’s business!
Be a PROACTIVE manager… Look for things that your recruit may not know and give the knowledge through phone calls, and emails!
RUN YOUR BUSINESS LIKE YOU HAVE A 100 SUPERSTAR DIRECTORS
IN YOUR GROUP!
What would you do differently?
PUT SYSTEMS IN PLACE
~team promotion periods (even if there is just you and one in your downline you can run a promotion… When we both get 150 in sales we will go to lunch together! There is all kind of things you can do to promote each other!
~first 3 weeks run a promotion so that you know before the end of the month around where you are going to be!
LEAD WITH FIRE
F fun ……………. You have to be fun and exciting first!
I inspiring…………Be a visionary leader…I know what my dreams are and I am
making them happen!
R recognition……This is a very important thing! Give recognition!
E educate………… Teach those skills! Teach them how important it is not to
miss anything scentsy if they can help it!
If any component is missing then you risk losing them!
15 super star directors were asked…..”What is the one most important thing someone could do if they want to go all the way to the top?”
ANSWER: Go to convention! Go to team meetings!
Pretend every recruit has a pilot light in their hat
YOUR JOB IS TO KEEP THE FLAME BURNING!!!!!

#1 Begin with the end in mind (what do you want to think and feel/where
do you want to be)
#2 What are your goals for making it work (what are you trying to
accomplish)
#3 How willing are you to change how you are currently doing it (doing
the same thing repeatedly expecting the same outcome is…INSANITY)
#4 What critical moments are holding you back (talking not listening,
FEAR of something)
#5 Find the first element to put into practice (first impression. consider
your brand, image, what message are you sending)
#6 Analyze…Are my current systems working well (what is working and
what do I need to change)
#7 Outline each step of your journey (make your plan on paper, what are
you trying to accomplish with each step, how do you measure)
#8 PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE ( roll play with another consultant,
video your self and watch videos)
#9 Implement (get feedback, USE YOUR RESOURCES)
In a book I have been reading….EXCUSE ME, YOUR LIFE IS WAITING
There are two stories very different all about the power of the mind!
The first story a man had been locked in a refrigerator box car and realized that noone could hear him screaming for help! He realized that he just could not make it through the night and there was no way that he was going to survive! His mind was telling him he was freezing and that night he froze to death! Well the end of this story is that the next morning they found him dead in that car but one thing you should know…. The refrigerated box car was broken and only 59 degrees…..The mans mind listened and the body reacted and he thought himself to death!
The second story is of a girl that was going to be Ms. America! She was in two pageants and won first runner up both times! She kept picturing herself as the winner and walking down the runway as the crowning song was played! Well when she didn’t win the 3rd time she went home and studied videos of pageants and interviewed contestants and read books and attended any class that would benefit her and help her gain more knowledge! She moved to Kansas and competed and won and advanced to Ms America pageant and won! When asked how did she do it and was she nervous about going down the isle for the famous walk…she responded No you see I have walked down this path a thousand times before!
If we can dream it….WE CAN DO IT!
What do you tell yourself everytime that you look into the mirror!?
Do you believe that you can Achieve it? What is that you want in life?
We really do control the stories of our life. They really do begin with our imagination, and we have FULL CONTROL of them…That which happens in our mind becomes our reality down the road….
YOUR FUTURE SELF…. Please answer the following questions….Imagine yourself as a person much older that you are presently. When you reflect on your life….

I hope that you will take a bit to do this activity…. As you can begin to create the story in your mind! And imagine your dreams coming true and believe in yourself with no doubts!
